The Investment Residency Category
Argentina's immigration law includes a residency category for individuals who invest capital in productive activities in Argentina. This is one of the fastest and most straightforward paths for financially independent foreign nationals who want legal residence without requiring employment or a pension.
What Qualifies as an Investment?
Qualifying investments include real estate purchases, capital contributions to Argentine companies, and other productive economic activities. The investment does not need to be enormous — the threshold is based on demonstrating that the investment is genuine and productive rather than a specific fixed amount. Roffo's immigration team structures the investment documentation to maximize approval probability.
Timeline and Process
The investor residency application is filed with the DNM alongside supporting documentation including proof of investment, bank records, and a clean criminal record from your home country. Approval typically takes 2–4 months. Once granted, you receive a 2-year temporary residency certificate and begin the DNI process immediately.
